10/1 (TUES) BODEGA TO FAIRFAX, CA 52 MILES

Need sunglasses to start-beautiful morning.  Things should be good but I have a few  MINOR problems.  Can’t STAND to SIT on my SEAT-am very sore.  My neck hurts from being tense-need Bengay or my mother’s neck pillow.  Knee still hurts-ran out of Aleve.  Have wrong gears on my bike-like using wooden racquet to play tennis.  My eyes are swollen– I’m constipated & I feel very NEEDY-POOR Armand today!!!!  HWY 1 takes us through farm land-cows, sheep, goats, horses–Leader stops at turkey farm.  Not going back to take their picture.  See us talking & RUN over (50 turkeys)-right in front of me.  They stand there smiling-take camera out-happy now.  Now have big hill-walking feels better than biking.  U-Hoo-It’s Jean & Lynn-did a side trip & caught us.  Long down hill into Tamales-I feel like flying.  Stop in Pt. Reyes-bike shop-adjust my seat & replace back brakes-eat picnic lunch.  Get off 1-bike through closed state park on nice bike path.  U-Hoo-pass Lynn-Armand & Jean (our leaders)  are  biking side by side–it’s only fair that they each have 1 liability.  Stay at Fairfax Inn ($240) for 2 nights.  Jean lets us have a rest day because she wants to visit the Muir Woods.  Lynn goes to bike store-I go too.  Decide to make a change–buy new seat ($85) & change gears on my bike ($350)–now don’t have excuses. Eat dinner-bike store calls-bike is ready. Relax in Jacuzzi tub-love this room. Talk to my sister Martha-our mom is doing so well she is being kicked out of hospice. I think it’s because she doesn’t want to miss out on the football season. Missing family & being away from home. Looking forward to rest day.
