Talked to Jean-made it to NM, but it hasn”t been easy. Had head winds of 25 to 32 mph. Had to take day off when winds were gusting to 45 mph. Had to ride 21 m on interstate 1 day.  Told her that we spent $5.70 per mile for the 310 miles we biked. Not a very good deal. Said I was now saving money.  We will fly to Phoenix for the biking reunion on Oct. 24. Am taking Sparky & Wilson for more pictures. Until then-enjoy each & every day.

Things happen for a reason. Nancy’s daughter bought a new car, selling old car to Bailey (who takes care of Dominic)  in SA. Turned in Uhaul-Nancy had bike rack-drove to Austin, picked up our car-drove to SA-delivered car-picked up Dominic-drove to Austin-mowed grass. So happy to be home. Bridge on Mon, golf on Tues, tennis on Wed, bowling on Thurs.  Glad we tried-happier to be home again.

DAY 6 (10/7) ERICK, OK to SHAMROCK, TX  Open my eyes, Armand in biking shorts & fixing tire-has trouble-calls Jean. Said he felt fine. Ate bkft w/Jean-she trained for ride. Biked  1st part of RT 66 starting in Chicago/bikes 60 m several times a wk & strenuous hikes. I don’ t do much of anything-just want another adventure. Hugs-wish Jean the best. Leave at 9:00-cold, windy. 15 m-another flat. Cross line into TX. Enter Shamrock-stop at Econolodge-clerk helpful-calls Uhaul-it’s 11:45-close at 12. Another flat-send flatbed truck for us. Only have big Uhaul $550 to Austin. Go to $store for rope to tie up bikes. Drive to Dallas-spend night w/Nancy.  Pictures are not in order. Tomorrow-AUSTIN.
