5/26 (Sun) PORTO

Leave room-see Cindy-already ate bkft-expected to see us at 7:30-really?? See Jean at bkft-just like last summer in Europe. Tour Stock Exchange-where all commerce was transacted-interesting. Next climb over 200 steep steps to top of church-very narrow-now down. Very scenic city-lots of steep climbs-back to room to rest-Jean & Cindy still go separate ways & need no rest. Have bike meeting-will have GPS instead of maps-start tomorrow-hope I can do it. Armand already sleeping.

5/25 (Sat) LISBON to PORTO

Good bkft, walked to GULBENKIAN MUSEUM–Modern Art (don’t really get it) & Founders Collection–original masterpeices & artifacts from all over the world collected during his lifetime & left to his museum to be enjoyed by all (worth over a billion), grounds beautiful (turtles, ducks)-absolutely fantastic. Took pictures from both galleries. Resting on bench-hear English-where are you from? TEXAS-unbelievable-1st person I ask in Portugal & they are from TX.  Suzanne & Richard (was UT professor) on tour.  Then met Marti & Randy for lunch-from Dallas-just came by train from Porto. 1st time to meet them-have mutual friends-Linda & Jose. Walk back to hotel, taxi to airport, arrive 9 pm, see man w/GONSOULIN sign. Can’t believe it-didn’t expect to be picked up. City in lights-very impressive-arrive CARRIS HOTEL-Room 222-had same room # in Lisbon.
