Made it back home. Harley & Libby were waiting for us. It’s nice to be home except no one is making lunch for me.

We could not have made this trip without the help of several good friends. KAY our neighbor who came over to feed Libby. SAllY & her dog MOOSE who took Harley in for several days. BECKY who stayed at our house for 4 days to take care of Harley & Libby. THANK YOU. And to WHITNEY & MOLLY WHO ORGANIZED THE TRIP & invited us to join them. THANK YOU.

Meet at lodge at 8:30-follow airstream to BIG DAM BRIDGE in LITTLE ROCK. Park & bike around closed rd under consrtuction. Bike 14m over bridge & on bike paths-beautiful-lots of people enjoying the day. Molly’s E-Bike dies-has to push 65 lb bike up bridge. Have LAST meal in airstream-hope we get asked to join them again-even though we made NO contribution. Suppose to arrive in Dallas at 6-had 3 hr traffic delay-arrived at my sister Nancy’s house at 9. Her dog Sugar & cats Trouble, Simba & Scouter were there to greet us. So glad to get there.

Drove to airstream & then to Rock House Cave on gravel rd that I wouldn’t bike on. Walk down very rocky trail to cave. Did 2 more hikes-one had waterfall. Then back to airstream & burgers by Whitney. Did make 1 stop for fudge & marshmellows. Burnt my marshmellows-ate them anyway. Never need to relive my happy memories of marshmellows again. Hamburgers were wonderful. We ate in airstream-area is now full of RV’s & lots of noisy kids riding bikes-having great time. Back at lodge spend hrs trying to post pictutes. Now give up until we get home.

AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM

Left at 9-met Whitney & Molly on nice bike path-I love it😀 Now on terrible gravel road on way to Rock House Cave Trail. NO PICTURE IS WORTH THIS😬😬 NOT FUN-going to turn around. We can go back in the car. Stop at WINTHROP ROCKEFELLER MUZEUM-it’s closed. Pass petting zoo-I love animals-pay $5 to take pictures. I think Whitney & Armand are a “little frustrated” w/all my kodak moments. But they don’t say anything while Molly & I enjoy the animals. Next is AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM-very interesting. Now back to airstream for lunch-had 2 donuts for breakfast. Finish off chicken salad w/fruit, chips & fudge😊😊😊😊😊. Barely can lift leg to get back on bike. Coming back at 4 in the CAR.

Follow airstream almost to park. Arrive around 4-try & take nap. M & W bike over around 6. Take short, dangerous (for me & my knees) hike. Eat at restautant-food not good. Molly & Whitney bike back in rain & dark. I have to go to lobby to finish blog. Armand is probably sleeping. BIKING TOMORROW.

Left at 10-went to HOT SPRINGS-Parked & visited shops-ate another lunch by Molly in airstream. Almost finished chicken salad. They had to stop at Krohers so they could continue to feed us. I had Armand stop at Dunkin Donuts. My sister Martha does NOT invite us on thier trips because I am a SLUG. Don’t know if Molly & Whitney will invite us again.

Hot Springs was known for it’s bath houses-most closed now because of covid.

Bike out at 9 to meet Whitney & Molly on road. 20 m ride around park-hills at 3-4 mph-need e-bike. Weather in 50’s-some roads a little rough but no cars-have beautiful park to ourselves. Lunch by Molly again-made hills worth it. Go back to lodge to get ready for golf at 1:30. Competition-match play-Armand plays from blue & gives me a stroke on every hole. Won 6 holes on back 9 to be winner😊😊. Had course to ourselves except for geese & plenty of geese poop. Nice to be in a cart. Dinner by Molly-pasta /shrimp, salad, bread-better than I ever eat at home. Sit by fire-only thing missing are marshmellows. Exhausted after no nap-in bed by 9. NO BIKING TOMORROW. We are going to Petit Jean State Park.

It’s raining😇 Start morning in gym-practice spinning. Hot tub-joined by couple w/2 kids from Dallas. Cold & rainy. Whitney & Molly bike over at 11. Go for 10 m bike ride-Molly has electric bike. Can’t wait for mine to come in the mail. Stop by camp site & Molly serves us great lunch. Bike to lodge for 2 hr nap. Don’t want to get up-But Whitney & Molly are here for a hike. Eat dinner at lodge-6 people in huge dinning room. Meet couple from WI. This blog has taken 2 hrs-Armand is sleeping.

1st trip since Covid in 2/20 to Mexico to see dentist. Meeting Armand’s brother Whitney & Molly (La) in airstream at DEGRAY STATE PARK. Drop Harley (100 lb lab) at Sally’s at 9:00. Arrive at lodge at 5:00-beautiful & empty. Drive to Whitney’s campsite. Molly prepares wonderful dinner-eat by campfire. Go back to lodge & 5 pillow bed. Rain during night.
