Meet Dave & Joan from CA leaving hotel. Will see them later on trail & at 6 after biking entire distance. On road out of town, now on nice bike path, now on terrible gravel. Armand is out of sight-Jean bikes up. We get off gravel-find nice rd through town-now on trail-find bench in shade. Cindy finds us. Bike to little town w/strip church-walk in sand-wait 2 hrs to be picked up in car. Jean, Cindy bike another 15 m-I’m a slug. Another wonderful hotel & town right by the ocean. Enjoyed walking around.

8 bkft w/Cindy & Jean.  Leave @ 9-go around block-back to hotel-batteries low after being charged all night-others having same problem-w/gps too. Stop at store for batteries-see Peter & Sally-bike w/them until they go over big bridge. We go straight on our route-lake-rd to ferry–Cindy bikes up. Ferry ride-windy & cold.  Now in industrial area,  gravel paths to prosperous city of AVEIRO-pass canals-narrow streets to high rise MELIÀ REA HOTEL & SPA. Not a biker anymore-24 m in 5 hrs-need a nap.  Beautiful room w/tv with our name on it.  Leave room at 5-take 45 m gondola ride-see Cindy walking-take picture of her taking picture of us.  Go to dinner w/her-eat salmon because grandson Phillip loves salmon. Back to hotel-never saw Jean today-need to rest for day 3.
