Another beautiful day in 3 beautiful countries. Hard to think about biking in Austin w/friends Mary Ruth, Korey, Karen-traffic & no bike paths. Leader about to make me bike up to castle-see Cindy-gets us back on path-she goes to castle. Meet Maggy taking group of students to theatre in next town-asks for help. Chain came off Catarina’s bike-Armand fixes it-gets kiss & called hero. Remind him-he didn’t come back & help me. Stefan also very nice-stops run to help us-looked lost. Get to Feldkirch-all go to church & castle. At castle lady offers to take our picture-can’t believe it-name is Karen from TX-plays golf. She’s w/Clemens from Austria. He’s 17-gives us tour of castle & answers quest. Been to TX, wants to go back-at 18 all males go into service for 1 yr- pd $500 a month. Country is Catholic. Commented on cost of food-prices are better here & Germ. Swiss make lot of money-people who clean hotels make $4,000 a month-secretaries make much more. Also texted mom-found us best restaurant & meal so far. Armand is sleeping-light & tv don’t bother him.

What a nice day. Easy biking on scenic trails to Weesen. See Cindy-going to bike to waterfall & then around lake to hotel. We’re taking 90 min boat ride pass waterfalls to Hotel Seehof. Boat is full-makes 5 stops along way. Lots of people-by water-enjoying beautiful day. Have nice room-windows open to lake-no screens on any windows in Europe. Need rest after biking 15 m & boat ride. Take walk-see Jean sitting on bench-didn’t take boat ride either. Listens to books on tape as she bikes. Too hot-83-go back inside watch finals of French Open-Cindy joins us. Eat at hotel rest.-$4.50 water, $9.50 for small salad, $15 spaghetti. Have ham sandwich (3rd of the day) no cheese-terrible bread $7. Take another walk-peaceful-tourists are gone. I think the 4 of us are the only ones on this bike tour. Armand is asleep.
